Hard Words to Taxi Man. —Reginald Charles Gordon King, aged 28, who used obscene language to a taxi-driver last night, was fined £3 in the Police Court on Saturday.
Floods Anticipated. —Fears are entertained in Wanganui district that when the snow melts on the uplands floods will follow.
Cutting a Corner. —A motorist in Stratford, who “cut a corner” too fast and caused a collision, had his licence suspended for a month.
Te Karaka Burglary. —The Maori thief, who broke into a store at Te Karaka, and after desperate attempts managed to escape, has been committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
Wary Captain Cookers. —Wild pigs in the Upper Wanganui have refused to take poison, so the Government has offered a bonus of Is a snout to induce destruction.
Citizens Indignant. —The attempt to get rid of the Wanganui borough engineer has aroused indignation, and a citizens’ meeting of protest is to be held.
