NEW APPOINTMENT MADE GUNNERY CLASS’S CRUISE The scope of the training provided for young seamen by the Royal Naval Reserve in Auckland has been further extended by the appointment of Lieut. W. T. Connors, R.N.V.R., as gunnery officer for the division. Lieut. Connors is specially fitted for the work of training the young idea in the art of naval gunnery, having seen four and a-half years’ service in both navy and army during the war. A special gunnery class of 20 R.N.R. ratings in charge of Lieut. Connors, and Sub-Lieut. Garner, R.N.V.R.. sailed at 1.30 p.m. Saturday n H.M.S. Wakakura for a week’s instructional cruise in the Gulf.
