The result of the first night’s voting for the title of Miss New Zealand, places the candidates in the following order: FIRST. —Miss Dale Austen (Miss Otago).

SECOND. — Miss Vera Hodge (Maid of Honour to Miss Otago).

THIRD. —Miss Billie Andreas,on (Miss Auckland). FOURTH. —Miss Hazel Spiers (Miss Wellington).

FIFTH. —Miss Hildred Graham (Maid of Honour to Miss Auckland).

SIXTH. —Miss Leon Mac Call (Miss Canterbury).

SEVENTH. —Miss Winnie Tonklnson (Miss Southland). EIGHTH. —Miss Pat.. Smidt (Maid of Honour to Miss Wellington).

NINTH (EQUAL).— Miss Morgie Cameron and Miss Jane Kinsey, Maids of Honour to Miss Southland and Miss Canterbury respectively.

The contest is creating the greatest jnthusiasm. The visiting competitors made a splendid impression and were warmly greeted. The voting is very keen.
