A CHARMING FLOWER

The heuchera sanguinea or coral hells is the queen of table flowers. The dainty bell shaped flowers are borne freely on long, light, wiry stems, and adapt themselves to easy arrangement. The colour is coral scarlet shading to carmine, a delightful soft shade that must be seen to be appreciated. More prizes have been won at shows in “decorated tables” classes by a combination of heuchera and gypsonhila than with any other flowers. The small, starlike, white flowers of gypsophila go nicely with the heuchera. and if maidenhair fern is used as greenery the loveliest of effects is produced. The heuchera plants are perennial, and become better and bigger each season, till they form shapely little compact hushes bearing the flowers ■)n long stems well above the foliage. The flowering period lasts the greater part of the year. They are adapted for permanent edgings to beds, or for planting in groups of three or four plants to each group in the foregrounds of beds. In either case they provide ample flowers for table decoration and make a splendid garden display. The plants ar? perfectly and suited to all con ditions and soils.
