Williamson Company present tor their next comedy attraction at His Majesty's Theatre on Thursday, July 2S, • folly With a Past.” This will mark the first appearance in Auckland of the popular young rinalish comedy star, Miss lienee Kelly, in a play of modern life, "Polly With a Past,” by George Middleton and Guy Bolton. Miss Kelly has delighted English and American audiences by her brilliant acting, personal charm and artistic frockmg. On the English stage to-day there is no more popular personality. In "Polly With a Past” she is said to an ideal role, which will display her acting ability to the fullest.. As a demure maid, then as a notorious Frenchwoman, she introduces the light anil shade of comedy and dramatic action. "Polly With a Past” is claimed to be a play with an appeal to everyone. A Melbourne critic says: ” Polly With a Past' seems quite rightly to have also created a future for herself. The crowded audience at the King's Theatre responded to every laugh that was in this likesome show. Renee Kelly has already made herself a great favourite. Her Franco-Englisli accent and her completely French abandon are amazingly good. Never a point is missed ” The season, which is an extended one, will see “Brown Sugar” and "The East of Mrs. Cheyney” staged. The box plans open on Tuesday, July 26, at Lewis K. Eady and Son, Ltd.
