AT THE CHURCHES
The service at the Unitarian Church to-morrow evening, which is to be relayed by the Broadcasting Company, will be fully musical. In addition to an anthem, three solos are promised by Mesdames G. Wallis, Garnet Uren and Cyril Watkin. By special request the Rev. Albert Thornhill will preach on the suffering of the innocent in relation to faith in the goodness of God. The Rev. Thomas Southworth will preach at the morning service to be held at St. Matthew’s, Wellesley Street, to-morrow. In the evening the Rev. F. C. Long, a missionary from India, will conduct the service. Ananthem will be sung by the choir. At the Methodist Central Mission in Airedale Street, the Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour is to conduct an evangelistic service at 7 p.m. Sister Olive will also speak. An inspirational address by Mrs. Harris-Roberts on the “Intimate Life of the Spirit World” will be delivered at the Spiritual Scientists’ Church in Newton Chambers to-morrow at 7 p.m. During the afternoon an open Lyceum Circle is to be held. At the Royal Oak Baptist Church the usual services are to be held. The preachers are to be the Rev. E. N. Goring and Mr. J. Crosier. The Y.M.C.A. will hold its usual Sunday afternoon men’s meeting at 4.15 p.m. this week. The Rev. J. Laird, M.A., will address the meeting on “The Greatest Wonder of Love.” A solo is to be sung by Mr. G. V. Lagel. The First Church of Christian Scientists will meet in the Church Hall, Symonds Street, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. to-morrow. A short address on “Life" is to be given. Services will be conducted by the Churches of Christ as usual, and will be held in the following places:—Ponsonby Road, Dominion Road. Onehunga, Richmond, Avondale, Mt. Albert and Devonport.
