TURF LEADERS
A.R.C. CANDIDATES NEW HEADS FOR WELLIN RACES Sir Edwin Mitchelson has been reelected unopposed to the position of president of the Auckland Racing Club. Sir Edwin has held office for very many years, and under his presidency the club has gone ahead by leaps and bounds, until now it is one of the leading racing institutions of the Southern Hemisphere. Mr. H. O. Nolan has been re-elected vice-president. For the five vacant seats on the committee, there are half a dozen nominations, and therefore a ballot will be
necessary. The; nominees are Messrs. Ewen W. Alison, jun., J. M. Carpenter. R. W. Luder, M. M. Louisson, N. Alfred Nathan, and Dr. A. McGregor Grant. There are vacancies for three stewards, and for these seats the following are candidates:—Messrs. M. J. Lynch, L. C. Rathbone, William C. Ring, sen., and G. A. Wynyard. The annual meeting of the Auckland Racing Club is set down for August 8.
