R.S.A. PRESIDENT CRITICISES EXECUTIVE
“LACK OF TEAM WORK” “T FEEL that the executive has not worked well enough together,” declared the chairman of the Auckland Returned Soldiers’ Association, Mr. S. C. Reid, last evening. "Some of the members will have to get out at the end of three months, or I will have to get out.” This criticism was made during the discussion of a social evening held recently for the entertainment of their women-folk. Mr. Reid expressed his disappointment at the poor attendance of members of the executive, which was supposed to have conducted the social. He complained of the lack of team work displayed by members. COMFORTS FOR T.B. PATIENTS Referring to certain funds collected for the provision of comforts and presents for the men living in the T.B. shelters, the president, Mr. S. C. Reid, said that the sum of money in question was the proceeds of a Sunday concert held in one of the theatres. The money had been handed over by the organisers of the concert to the Auckland Hospital Board, into whose general funds it had been paid for disbursement at the board’s discretion. The secretary, Mr. E. H. Sharp, said that the soldier patients were not satisfied. They held the view that as the money was earmarked for a specific purpose, namely, the purchase of Easter comforts, it should have been applied by the Hospital Board for that purpose. The patients suggested that the board should be asked to vote a sum of £ls to buy the comforts. It was agreed to ask the board also to state in writing what extra comforts we**e being provided for the men in the T.B. shelters.
