MODERN CIVILISATION
It is getting to be an axiom with producers of Western pictures that great open spaces where electric power lines and telephone poles don’t show in the back-ground are becoming Increasingly difficult to find. The original setting of “The Mysterious Rider,” was sufficiently wild however to answer the purpose beautifully. The Paramount studio location department was thereby saved many a headache and many a tentative trip to locate a spot suitable to the tenor of the picture. The Valley of Fire located at the conjunction of Arizona. Nevada and Utah is one of the most astonishing scenic phenomena of the world. Its name is its most adequate description. A special train from Hollywood carried the large company to St. Thomas. Nevada, whence they travelled into the valley daily for photographing. Jack Holt, whose robustly masculine qualities have made him the idol* of both sexes, plays the title role in this hair-trigger action-romance*. He is supported by Betty Jewel. Tom Kennedy, David Torrence and a strong . cast.
