NOTES The new Wellington station 2YA was again on the air yesterday with a descriptive relay of the proceedings from the Trentham racecourse. Listeners report that volume was not as good as on Tuesday last, the transmssion being inaudible during the running of one of the races. This was most likely a fault of the relay line to the racecourse. Modulation, as usual, was very good. Everybody is looking forward to the initial studio transmission which is to take place to-morrow night. As a perusal of the programme published in this issue will show, the company has gone to no little trouble in preparing for this event. The studio of the new station is in Featherston Street, Wellington, the transmitting plant being situated some distance away, at Roseneath. The station director is Mr. J. Davies; the musical director Mr. H. Temple White; and the pianist Mrs. F. H. Peyton.
