SOCCER SELECTION—AUCKLAND’S OPINION CONVEYED PERSONALLY
JT was not broadcast from Wellington with the radio account of the Soccer test last Saturday, but it was heard that a prominent member of the Auckland Football Association management, who had journeyed to the - Empire City to see the game, took advantage of the opportunity to convey to the New Zealand sole selector quite a candid and plain opinion of the selective methods, and the peculiar treatment of the Auckland candidates. After these mutual exchanges the temperature dropped to normal and both settled down to cheer the “All Blacks” on to victory. At the evenir\g banquet they sat shoulder to shoulder in perfect harmony and enjoyed each other’s good speeches. As a result of this useful clearing of the atmosphere Auckland now has four representatives as “possibles” for the final test. So that’s that!
