HARRIS HORDER RIDES WELL IN AMERICA
WINS QUARTER MILE TITLE
The dapper little Australian cyclist, Harris Horder, blazed into the limelight at the Newark (United States) Yeladrome last month wheh he won the quarter mile national sprint title. Horder beat such well - known cracks as Avanti Martinetti, the Italian rider, and Freddi e and Willie Spencer, winning heat, semi-final and final, his fastest time being 27 4-5 secs.
Horder is also well up in the international sprint championship, which includes 24 races. On the races decided when the last mails left, Horder, Martinetti and Freddie Spencer were leading with five points each.
