Bowling, Tyldesley took three wickets for 6, and McDonald four for 67. In its second innings Hampshire made 207 (Brown 65). McDonald took seven wickets for 78. Lancashire won by 10 wickets. Notts, in its first innings, made 343 (Whysall 114), and Yorkshire made 320 (Sutcliffe 169). Notts won on the first innings. Bowling for Essex against Northants, Palmer took five for 53, and Russell five for 32. Essex won. For Sussex against Gloucester, Bowley made 220. Bowling for Gloucester, Parker took six wickets for 67. Sussex won. For Glamorgan against Worcester, Bates made 200 not out. Bowling, Mercer took six wickets for 63. For Worcester, Higgins made 123. Glamorgan won. Bowling for Derby against Leicester, Storer took five wickets for 66. For Leicester, Geary took six for 18. Leicester won. For Warwick against Somerset, Bates made 118 not out.
