TROTTING CONFERENCE

OFFICERS RE-ELECTED OFFICIALS MAY NOT BET The election of officers of the New Zealand Trotting: Conference resulted in the re-election of the sitting members, a warm tribute to their efficiency and expression of confidence in their work. The officials thus honoured are: President, Mr. H. F. Nicoll; vice-presi-dent, Mr. John Howe; Messrs. B. S. Irwin, president Forbury Park Trotting Club, H. R. Mackenzie, president Otahuhu Trotting Club, C. M. Ollivier, vice-president New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club. The conference approved of the rules forbidding officials, such as judges, starters, handicappers and clerk of scales, betting on meetings at which they are acting, and enabling the stewards to prevent a horse starting in a race, and to return fees.

Many technical alterations were made in the existing rules.
