MASKED CARNIVAL
AT THE MUSICAL BOX A delightful fancy dress ball was held last evening at the Musical Box, when about 200 revellers assembled. The costumes were striking and varied and the hall was gaily decorated for the occasion with balloons and coloured streamers. The first two prizes (sets of carvers and fish knives and forks) were awarded to Mr. and Mrs. Morgan, who appeared as costers, while Miss Ruby Webb and Mr. Louis Cohen tied for second place in costumes representing a Russian dancer and the Argentine. The majority of millinery models remain quite small. Light-weight felt and crinoline share an almost equal popularity, and trimmings are conspicuous by their virtual absence. A neat band and a side bow are practically universal.
