LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY
“THE CASSILIS ENGAGEMENT” Lovers of the theatre should not miss the Little Theatre Society’s production of ‘‘The Cassilis Engagement,” which will be performed for the last time this evening at the concert chamber. St. John Hankin’s work leaves a lasting impression. It is a satirical comedy woven round the intermarriage of the classes. The daughter of a bookmaker is engaged to the son of a nobleman, but in order to break the engagement the boy’s mother invites the girl and her mother to the country. Gradually the girl becomes more and
more bored with the simple life There are somo deliciously amusing scenes, played by a most able apd well-chosen company. Mrs. M. McCallum, Miss Ethel Rae, Miss Beryl Nettleton, Mrs. W. H. Parkes, Mrs. J. M. Goodfellow and Mr. Robert Tole are all allotted good parts, and the rest of the company succeeds admirably in support. “Tho Cassilis Engagement” is another important milestone in the history of the society and a triumph for Mr. Kenneth Brampton, the producer.
