fbe Birkenhead Borough Council w t night decided to inform the g»lth Department that money had teen allocated for the engineering costs .(preparing a drainage scheme for the borough. A special meeting will be held early in September to consider o,e question. While not opposing the motion the Mayor gave it as his opinthat a comprehensive drainage jdieme was not necessary at present. Consideration was deferred of the oroposal to purchase a sports ground ,t Birkdale and provide a swimming pool at Hinemoa Park. In the meantime the Parks Committee will be poked to lay out and estimate the cost of improvements at Hinemoa Park. Waratah Road is to be supplied with I two-inch water main.
