76 YEARS IN COLONIES

LATE MRS D. McD. BROOK Mrs. Dorothy McDonald Brook, of Middleton Road, Remuera, died on Monday at the age of 88. In 1851 Mrs. Brook and her parents landed in Australia and settled at Ballarat. She married, in 1864, the late Mr. Julian C. Brook, a pioneer of the Ballarat mining industry. Until 1883 Mr. and Mrs. Brook lived in Victoria, but then came to Auckland. Mrs. Brook has lived here ever since. She is survived by one son, Mr. Julian Brook, and three daughters. Mrs. J. B. Bell, Mrs. J. A. Warnock, and Mrs. H. O. Totman.
