A WEDDING AT REMUERA
STEEN-ACHESON Slenderly fashioned of corded ivory silk was the bodice of the charming bridal gown worn by Nancy, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Acheson, of Portland Road, Remuera, when she was married yesterday afternoon at St. Luke’s Church, Remuera, to David Harvey, the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Steen, of Mount Albert. Into a gracefully bouffant skirt that was delightfully embroidered with silver thread, the slim little bodice drifted with casual ease and took unto itself added beauty from the veil of Brussels lace that cascaded so attractively from a chaplet of orange buds. A shower of white cyclamen, roses and freesias charmingly complemented the attractive bridal toilette. Miss Dorothy Neely, of Cambridge, a cousin of the bride, attended her, wearing a dainty little gown of delphinium blue georgette and panne velvet, expressed on simple lines and deftly embroidered with silver. Her becoming hat was of blue crinoline straw and she carried a charming bouquet of harmonising flowers. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. David Bone, and the Rev. J. A. Thompson performed the ceremony. Paris is just as much in love with magpie effects this season as in the past; but every year seems to evolve a new black-and-white chic. One sees a smart black satin coat worn with a skirt of white and black material in a large check design, pleated in fairly wide and illustrating the gilet vogue most piquantly in a white pique waistcoat. Pinned into the coat as an effective finish is a waxen white gardenia.
