HEALTH DEPT.’S BILL WATER COMMISSION COSTS be damned! ” ‘‘urd'er, please! ” When the Mount Albert Borough Council was informed by a letter from the Department of Health that its contribution to the cost of the Water Commission was £152, it provoked Councillor J. H. Langly o some heat. He asked why the council could not take a stand like Onehunga, where the Mayor had some backbone. He would like to see the Mayor of Mount Albert with £.s much backbone. The council had had nothing from the Water Commission and was squandering the ratepayers;’ money. He moved that no action shoul4 be taken. It was pointed out that the council would have to pay, and that Onehunga W M in a totally different position. “You wont’ have to pay,” said Cr. Langly as a motion to pay was passed. ‘You’re all asleep.”
