At Canberra, which has come more than ever into public eye because of the opening of the Federal Parliament there,- rapid development is reported. Up to date £12,000,000 has been spent on new buildings and of this amount £1,745,162 was spent during last year.
A start has been made by the Love Construction Company with the work of excavating the site for the new Town Hall, Dunedin, which is at the rear of the present building. Mr. James Love, who recently returned from Australia, brought back some special machinery in connection with the big contract.
