ACTIVITY IN GARDENS

NEW COLOUR DESIGNS CINERARIAS LOOKING WELL Just when everyone else is complaining of slackness in the business world, gardeners are having their busiest time. Albert Park is showing signs of concentrated activity. Roses have been pruned, withered leave and twigs have been cleared, and the spring planting is now almost over. A large bed which flaunted cannas during the summer has been planted with cinerarias. It should make a lovely sight in a few months’ time. The irises are showing their purple flowers and the bulbs are already displaying their trumpets of yellow. The gardeners have been just as active in the Domain as they have in Albert Park, and the spring and summer show should be a glorious one this year.

Several new ideas are being carried out in colour designs in the flower beds. When the flowers bloom they should make wonderful patches of colour.
