“CHILDREN OF DIVORCE”
REGENT’S NEW PICTURE Twentieth century youth—has it gene too far? Is this “new freedom” to be condemned or complimented? Are these thrill-jaded children of ours the forerunners of an even freer generation to come? “Children of Divorce,” Paramount’s latest Frank Lloyd production, to be shown at. the New Regent Theatre on Friday, concerns itself with three young persons who reach maturity without the bene-
fit of parental love or advice. Of the three, only one shows any sign of intelligence; the others have developed as jazz- mad wastrels. What happens when Kitty Flanders marries Jean Waddington’s fiance while both are under the influence of a supernatural force (modern phrase meaning drunk), provides the film with a stirprisingly dramatic climax. Clara Bow, fresh from triumphs in “Mantrap,” “Kid Boots,” and “It,” is co-starred with Richard Dix’s former leading woman, Esther Ralston, Gary Cooper. Einar Hanson, and Norman Trevor are featured.
