SETTLEMENT IN THISTLE SOCCER DISPUTE LIKELY

rpHE disagreement between the management of the Auckland Football Association and the Thistle Football Club, which ended in the club deciding to cancel its affiliation, has resulted in some prominent office-bearers, not connected with the active management of either body, conferring with a view to arriving at an amicable settlement which would satisfy all parties concerned. A further conference is being held today, and important developments may be looked for at the weekly meeting of the Auckland Football Association management to-night, when the matter will come up for further consideration. There is every prospect of the dispute reaching finality in a manner which will find Thistle in the field again, and their players available to represent Auckland against the Canad ians.
