THE NEW MORRIS
THE 15.9 H.P. MODEL Many readers were interested in the description in last week’s “Motordom" of the new 15.9 Morris car. “Headlight” endeavoured to give a description of the car itself and the outstanding mechanical features. Adivice has since come to hand that the new car is finding favour and is doing good work in many different parts of the world. The 15.9 Morris has firmly established itself in the world’s markets in spite of the fact that it is but a recent production. Morris Motors (1926), Ltd., have been favoured with an extensive order from the Buenos Aires Great Southern Railway, which recently accepted a tender for 15.9 h.p. Morris-Oxford cars and MorrisCommercial Six-Wheeler trucks in the face of strong foreign competition. A few months ago, against a field of 25 cars, the 15.9 h.p. Morris-Oxford car finished first in the Swedish Winter Reliability Trials, conceded all authorities to be Europe’s most exacting car test. Mr. C. W. Scappel, the driver, not only carried off the first prize, but, his being the first English car to finish, was also awarded the R.A.C. Cup. Cars entered in this trial ranged from big American six and eight-cylinder cars to small French and Italian light cars.
“Your speedometer shows you have gone 25,000 miles. Been taking some long tours?”
“No, the 5,000 is the distance I have covered going back and forth to the office, and the other 20,000 the distance I have covered looking for parking places.”
