WALCHEREN AT NEWPORT.— Cabled news has bean received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that their chartered steamer Walcheren arrived at Newport News on July 3 from Montreal, en route to New Zealand ports.

PACIFIC MAIL—AORANGI, R.M.M.S., left Sydney June 30 for Vancouver, via Auckland, Suva and Honolulu; sailed from Auckland July 5; due Vancouver July 22. MAKURA, R.M.S., sailed from Sydney on June 16 for San Francisco, via Wellington, Rarotongd and Papeete; arrived Wellington June 20; thence June 22 to Auckland for repairs; left here June 26 for San Francisco; due San Francisco July 12. MAUNGANUI, R.M.S., left Vancouver June 29 for Sydney via Honolulu, Suva and Auckland; due Auckland July IS; due Sydney July 23. COASTAL MOVEMENTS— The Waipiata arrived at Auckland this morning from Southern ports and is announced to leave here on Wednesday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. The Katoa from Dunedin via Oamaru and Timaru arrived at Lyttelton yesterday and sails to-morrow for Wellington, Picton and Auckland. She is due here next Sunday. The Kaimanawa sailed from Lyttelton at 4 p.m. last Saturday for Auckland direct where she is due to-morrow evening. The Kamona from Westport is expected to leave New Plymouth to-morrow for Auckland, where she is due on Thursday evening. The Kaiapoi has been delayed at Portland by bad weather and is now ex-

pected to leave there to-day at 4 p.m. for Westport. The* Kittawa from Greymouth is scheduled to leave Napier at 10 p.m. today for Auckland and should arrive here on Thursday. The Waimea leaves Napier at 5 p.m. to-day for Auckland and is due here on Wednesday, sailing the same day on her return trip to Gisborne and Napier. The Gunbar arrives at Auckland on Friday from East Coast ports, and is announced to sail next Saturday for Gisborne and Napier via bays. The Karori is expected to sail from Auckland to-morrow for Greymouth, where she will load, completing at Westport for Auckland. The Waipu. sailing at 8.30 p.m. to-day for Kerepeehi, returns to Auckland on Wednesday. The Taniwha arrives here to-night from Paeroa, and sails at 5.30 p.m. tomorrow on her return trip. The Clansman is scheduled to leave Auckland at 5 p.m. to-day for Russell, Opua, Whangaroa and Mangonui. Tha Matangi, sailing at 7 o’clock tonight for Tauranga, returns to Auckland on Wednesday morning. The Motu is up to leave here at 4 o’clock this afternoon for Whakatane. The Otimai is now scheduled to sail from Auckland at 3 p.m. to-morrow for Ku tar ere and Opotiki. The Pono sails from here at 4 o’clock this afternoon for Mercury Bay. The Torea is to leave Auckland at 4 p.m. to-day for Thames, taking cargo only. The Claymore arrives here to-morrow morning from Whangarei, and sails the same day at 6.30 p.m. on her return trip. The Cheniston leaves Auckland on Thursday for Lyttelton where she will complete her discharge of Makatea phosphate. The Maimyo is to leave Wellington this afternoon for Lyttelton, Dunedin and Newcastle to land the balance of her New York cargo. The West Nivaria arrived at New Plymouth last evening from Dunedin and on completion of her discharge will proceed to Wellington to load for Honolulu. The Mamari arrived at New Plymouth yesterday from Timaru and leaves on Wednesday for Wellington to complete her Homeward loading. The Port Pirie leaves Lyttelton to-day for Wellington, where she will complete her loading for London.
