WINNERS IN TRIAL
r jpHE Trial Plate at Trentham tomorrow is open to horses that have not won a flat race exceeding £IOO at the time of starting. There are no less than nine horses in this event to-morrow that have won races, hut are “within the law.” Romantic has won three races, the winner’s share being £BS, £75 and £9s—still he is eligible. Waltzer just scrapes in, for he won a division race at the Avondale spring meeting nearly two years ago, his stake being £IOO. The following are the nine winners engaged to-morrow: Avro Oratrix Waltzer Catapult Arikiwai Romantic Merry Mint Tameterangi Fairy Tidings Tameterangi has won two races for amateur riders, for which the owner collected an £BO diamond necklace and a £4O bracelet.
