POWER FOR MARLBOROUGH
WAIHOPAI SCHEME DIVERSION TUNNEL CLOSED Press Association. BLENHEIM, To-day. The gates of the diversion tunnel of the Waihopai hydro-electric scheme were closed yesterday evening. The dam is filling, and the official switching- on of the power is now within sight. The scheme will provide *>ower and light for practically the whole province at a cost of £300,000.
