STRIKERS AID GUEST FOR A MURDERER
DEATH OF A COMRADE INFLAMES WORKERS IN SUGAR INDUSTRY By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright BRISBANE, Thursday. The strikers in the sugar-cane-cutting industry in the Innisfail district say they are not satisfied with the activities of the police in connection with the murder of one of their pickets, John Hynes. The men have organised posses which are scouring the district in
search of the murderer. The State Government has issued a proclamation encompassing the confiscation of all firearms in the district.
Sugar-cane farmers are arranging to charter and work their own steamers in order to remove the sugar crop. They say that if the strike continues they will not again be held up like they were in the last industrial upheaval.—A. and N.Z.
