FIRE DESTROYS A 30-ROOMED HOUSE
LOSS AT PALMERSTON NORTH Press Association. PALMERSTON NORTH, Tuesday. One of the most spectacular fires in Palmerston North occurred to-night, when a 30-roomed house on the outskirts of the borough, owned by Mr. J. Goring Johnston, was burned to the ground. The dwelling, which was one of the largest in the district, was untenanted at the time, Mr. Johnston having removed the greater part of the furniture to his new home in Hawke’s Bay.
