OLD FOOTBALLER DEAD
LATE MR. J. J. McLEAN The death occurred yesterday of Mr. John James McLean, at the age of 55. Mr. McLean was a successful contractor, being well known throughout New Zealand. He was a member of the Ponsonby Lodge of Druids. In his younger days he was a prominent footballer, representing Auckland in 1896, and later Wellington. Mr. McLean is survived by his wife and a young son.
