50 Mile Cycle Race For August 13

TO CLEVELAND AND BACK CLUB DELEGATES MEET At a combined meeting of the delegates of the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club and the Auckland Amateur Athletic club, held last evening, it was decided to hold the 50 mile Auckland road race championship on August 13. The event is to take place on an out-and-home course to Clevedon and back. The Manukau Amateur Cycling Club passed the following programme of events for the month: July 9, consolation race, 11 miles; junior race, 11 miles. July 16, senior race, 17 miles; junior race, 55 miles. July 23, senior race, 27 miles; junior race, 55 miles. July 30, time trial over 27 miles. It was also agreed that the trophy list for the month should be as follow: First, £1 Is; second, 10s; third, ss; and the prize for the fastest time, 10s. The club decided to purchase a firstaid outfit, which all members present considered a necessity.
