VAGRANT CONVICTED
MAN WHO WANTED TO DIE Arthur Isaac Martin, aged 51, appeared at the Police Court this morning for sentence on a charge of being idle and disorderly. Senior-Sergeant Edwards said that Martin spent all the money he had on drink last week and went over to Devonport with the intention of drowning himself. “The Salvation Army will do something for him,” added the senior sergeant. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentenc eif called upon come up for sentence if called upon within three months.
