Tilden and Hunter won the men’s doubles after one of the finest exhibitions seen at Wimbledon for many years.. The Frenchmen set off at a cracking pace, but Cochet, in spite of his reputation as a five-set player, could not keep up the pace which he set himself. Although in the early stages Tilden was made to appear like a novice, he was the master man of the four at the finish. Cochet played the game of his life. Nothing seemed impossible to him and his interceptions of Tilden’s returns were marvellous. MIXED DOUBLES Fourth Round Hunter and Miss Ryan defeated Lycett and Mrs. Lycett, 6 —3, 6 —2. Raymond and Miss Heine defeated Kingsley and Mrs. Hill, 6—4, 7 —5. Semi-Final Hunter and Miss Ryan defeated Raymond and Miss Heine. 6 —3, G —4. Godfree and Mrs. Godfree defeated Greig and Miss Watson, 6 —3, 6 —4. Final Hunter and Miss Ryan defeated Godfree and Mrs. Godfree, B—6, 6—o.
