BRIDGING THE HARBOUR

A KAIPARA MOVE RECENTLY the Kaipara Chamber of Commerce communicated with the Auckland Chamber seeking support in a move to have a bridge erected over the Waitemata. The request has been considered by the executive of the Auckland body, and a reply forwarded asking for further information.

Speaking to a SUN man regarding the proposal, Mr. A. G. Lunn, president of the Auckland Chamber, said that even if the bridge was constructed to-morrow, it is more than likely that the largest proportion of the people living over the harbour would continue to use the' ferry boats. The question was one of cost, and before he would voice an opinion, he would require to be shown whether the expense would he justified.
