A quantity of ship’s stores were found iri the bags of Hugh Gribble, aged 47, and James Hughes, 32, chief, and second cook, respectively, of the S.S. Kauri, when they were accosted on the wharf on Saturday. They were charged at the Wellington Police Court to-day with theft.
