LATE MR. FRANK CURZON

The death has occurred of Mr. Frank Curzon, theatrical manager and racehorse owner, in his 59th year.—A. and N.Z.-Sun. The late Mr. Frank Curzon was lessee and manager of the Playhouse and Wyndham's Theatre, London. He was born at Wavertree, Liverpool, in September, 1868. After having received a private education he joined the theatrical profession and acted with several provincial companies. Later he took several I organisations of his own on tour. He took the Avenue Theatre (now the Playhouse) in 1899 and there, in conjunction with Charles Hawtrey, produced "A Message from Mars.” Subsequently he leased the Strand and Globe Theatres (both now demolished). At one time he had nine theatres in the West End of London under his management.
