BUSINESS MAN’S SUDDEN DEATH
COLLAPSE AT DEVONPORT A well-known business man of Devonport, Mr. Frederick Heldt, died suddenly this morning. He went to his shop as usual, but not feeling well, he was taken home and there collapsed and died. Born at Sunnymore, C o u n 1 y Derry, Ireland. Mr. Heldt came to New Zealand with his parents in 1859 in the ship Mermaid. He was in business at New Plymouth and Bulls, and later took over a buciness in Devonport, which he had carried on for 20 years. Mr. Heldt was an adherent of the Methodist Church. From 1922 to 1924 he was president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. He was also greatly interested in trotting and was well known in sporting circles.
