EXTRADITION MAY BE OPPOSED
RINGING-IN CHARGE MCCARTHY AGAIN REMANDED Walter McCarthy, aged 36, charged wxth conspiring to defraud Australian trotting clubs of large sums of money between January 1, 1926, and June 6 1927, appeared at the Police Court this morning. In asking for a remand till Thursday, Chief-Detective Cummings said an escort for McCarthy would be arriving from Sydney on that day. There is a probability that McCarthy’s extradition will be opposed.
