SOUTH ISLAND SHIVERS
COLDEST JUNE RECORDED FROSTS IN CENTRAL OTAGO Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. June, 1927, was the coldest June recorded in Christchurch, the mean temperature for the month being three degrees below the average. Eight degrees of frost were experienced in Dunedin last night, and in Central Otago the water-mains were frozen. The railway tanks were frozen to such an extent on the Clyde-Crom-well line, that they had to be refilled from the borough mains by hose hydrants from the fire-plugs.
