HOARD OF £l,ooo FOUND IN DEAD PENSIONER’S WHARE

Press Association. DARGAVILLE, Thursday. When the police searched the whare of an old-age pensioner, Edward Karans, who was found dead in the street on Tuesday night, they were surprised to find, in a biscuit tin, a hoard of £I,OOO, which the old man had evidently been putting by during his 52 years’ sojourn in the district. There was no will, and no known relatives. The Public Trustee has taken charge of the hoard in the meantime.
