AMATEUR ATHLETICS
AT DOMAIN TO-MORROW A.A.A. AND C. CLUB The Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club will hold the eighth meeting of its winter series of competitions at the Domain to-morrow afternoon at 2 o’clock sharp. The programme will consist of a two-mile steeplechase, 75yds. handicap sprint, and throwing the discus and putting the shot events. Interest in the steeplechase will not he as keen as usual owing to the fact tnat Auckland’s four best cross-coun-try runners will be away at the New Zealand cross-country championships at Christchurch, to be held to-morrow afternoon on the Cashmere Hills. Nevertheless, some very promising runners have entered for the event, and a good race is expected. A. J. Elliot will be striving his hardest to succeed in the sprint event. He has won the 75yds. handicap on five occasions in a very spectacular way, out he will have to go all out to-mor-r°S to . kee P U P his record. Entries for to-morrow’s meeting close with Mr. Morton at 5 p.m. to-day.
