Joseph Foster appeared on remand at the Magistrate’s Court, charged with the theft of £IO,OOO, the property of the British Government, and on the application of th« 3 police was again remanded for a week. Mr. P. S. K. Macassey, who appeared for the Crown, said he understood that Mr. T. M. Wilford, who was representing accused, had made an application to have paid to Foster and his wife the money in the bank at Hamilton. On behalf of Lloyd’s Bank, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop opposed the application, and expressed a desire to present argument. Mr. E. Page, S.M., intimated that the proper course was to serve notice on the magistrate of his intention.
