NORTH SHORE AMALGAMATION. —The Mayor of Birkenhead, Mr. E. G. Skeates, who last evening moved in favour of an amalgamation of the boroughs of Northcote, and Birkenhead. The council, in supporting the Mayor, held that the time was not opportune for a merger of the four North Shore municipalities.
