NORTH SHORE BOROUGHS

AMALGAMATION PROPOSAL BIRKENHEAD RESOLUTION That it did not think the time was opportune for the union of the four Xorth Shore boroughs, but that the time was more than overdue when the amalgamation of the Birkenhead and Northcote boroughs should be effected, was the resolution unanimously adopted by the Birkenhead Borough Council last evening. It was decided to inform the Northcote Borough Council to this effect. The resolution, which was moved by the Mayor, Mr. E. G. Skeates, and seconded by Mr. A. Hadfield, was the result of a communication from the Northcote Borough Council, sent with the object of discovering whether or not it was considered advisable to consider the amalgamation of all or any of the North Shore districts.
