OLD MAN’S TROUBLE SHORT TERM IN PRISON “I’m not well enough to work,” said John George Hobson, aged 67, when he pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning to a charge of being idle and disorderly. Sub-Inspector Lewin said that Hobson had nowhere to sleep and had done no work for some time. He was in a filthy condition and needed cleaningup. .. , . The Magistrate: Have you applied to the Salvation Army for help? Accused: Not lately. I was up there once, but I did not get on very well with them. . , , The Magistrate: That<was probably your fault. Hobson was sentenced to a month s imprisonment.
