PERSONAL. —Mr. A. M. Lucas has been appointed, chief officer of the Mr. P. W. Calvert, third officer of the Kaitangata, has transferred to the Kaiwarra, relieving Mr. C. W. Dovey for holidays. Mr. W. E. Willis, chief officer of the Kahika, has been granted holiday leave. Captain T. B. Robertson, who has reported from holidays, has been appointed to command the Koranui. Captain A. Murray transfers from the Koranui to the Kiwitea, and Captain W. J. S. Eyre from the Kiwitea to the Ngakuta, relieving Captain A. W. Creese for holidays. Mr. R. A. Barling has relieved Mr. C. T. Robb as second officer of the Wingatui. Mr. A. Ruegg, second officer of the Kahika, has been appointed actingchief officer of the Kaimai, relieving Mr W. E. Jones, who will await orders. Captain J. Bruce, of the Kaimai, has transferred to command of the Kairanga, relieving Captain A. Reed, who has assumed command of the Kaimai temporarily. Captain E. R. Lowe, of the Kahika, has transferred to command of the Opihi, relieving Captain F. J. G. Warren for holidays. The Maori was recommissioned at Lyttelton on Tuesday under command of Captain W. D. Cameron. His deck officers are:—Chief, Mr. ’T. S. McNicol; second, Mr. J. Delay; third, Mr. J. Watling. Mr. F. G. Shirley, chief officer of the Northern Company’s vessel Ngapuhi, has taken command of that vessel in place of Captain E. Dorling, who has rejoined his old steamer Matangi. WALCHERAN LEAVES MONTREAL.—A cable message to The New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the steamer Walcheran left Montreal on June 2 6 for Newport News en route to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The vessel is due at Auckland about the middle of August. RIMUTAKA LEAVES COLON.— Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Rimutaka arrived at Colon on June 25 from London and Southampton, and sailed again on June 26 for New Zealand ports. She is due at Wellington on July 20 to land passengers only, and will then discharge her cargo at South Island ports. CARGO FROM MONTREAL.— The Canadian Government Agency has been advised by cablegram that the Canadian Prospector sailed from Montreal on June 26 with general cargo to discharge at Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about August 4.
MAHENO FOR AUCKLAN D.— The Union Company advises that the intercolonial passenger steamer Maheno sails from Sydney to-morrow for Auckland, where she is due next Tuesday morning. ACRANGI FROM SYDNEY,—Leaving Sydney this afternoon the Union Company advises that the R.M.M.S. Aorangi is due at Auckland on Monday morning and is announced to sail again at 11 a.m. the following day for Suva, Honolulu, Victoria and Vancouver. MAKURA’S TIMETABLE. The Union Company advises that the R.M.S. Makura, which left Auckland last Sunday morning for San Francisco via ports, is due at the American port on the morning of Tuesday, July 12. She is expected to leave on July 15 for Sydney via Papeete, Rarotonga and Wellington and should arrive at Wellington about August 2. WELLINGTON - LYTTELTON FERRY SERVICE. —The local office of the Union Company have been advised that the Wahine will resume running on Tuesday, July 5, from Lyttelton in place of the Maori. The Maori on arrival at Lyttelton on July 5 will remain there until Wednesday, July 6, when she will sail in place of the Manuka, which withdraws from the service and proceeds to Port Chalmers for overhaul and survey. MATATUA REPORTS.— A further radio message received by L. D. Nathan and Company states that the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matatua will arrive at Auckland at 8 a.m. to-morrow from Liverpool. The vessel will berth at the Queen's Wharf to land the local portion of her cargo before proceeding to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. CANADIAN PIONEER SAILING TO-NIGHT. —The local office of the Canadian Government Mercantile Marine'advises that they hope to dispatch the Canadion Pioneer this evening for New York, Boston and Montreal. The vessel arrived at Auckland on June 3 from Halifax and later proceeded south to complete discharge and load for the homeward trip, and arrived back at Auckland last evening:. BRAND’S AGENTS.— A. S. Paterson and Company advise that the new motor-ship Brand, which left Galveston, Texas, on June 4 and Colon on June 13 for Auckland, Port Kembla, Geelong, Adelaide, Port Lincoln and Wallaroo, will come to their agency, and is expected here about July 12. The vessel has a full cargo of sulphur to discharge. MAUNGANUI LEAVES VANCOUVER.—CabIe advice received by the Union Company states that the R.M.S. Maunganui sailed from Vancouver at noon yesterday for Sydney via ports. She is due here on July 18 and at Sydney on July 23. MATAKANA DELAYED. —Owing to rain the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advises that the steamer Matakana has been delayed and now leaves New Plymouth to-morrow for Wellington, Timaru and Port Chalmers to complete her loading. She is to sail finally from the Otago port on July 14 for London via Cape Horn route. CORINTHIC’S PASSENGERS.— Besides cargo and mails the White Star liner Corinthic, which was scheduled to leave Wellington early this morning for Southampton and London, via Panama, was taking the following passengers: First saloon: Mr. V. PORT OF ONEHUNGA— The Karawa, which sails at 3 o’clock this afternoon for N6W Plymouth returns regain at 7.30 a.m. on Saturday. ’ The Arapawa, sailing at 3 o'clock this afternoon for Wanganui, goes from there to Westport to load a cargo of coal for Onehunga and is due back again on Wednesday next. The Ngatiawa, arriving at Onehunga . to-morrow morning from Raglan, Kawhia and Port Waikato, sails at noon the same day for Hokianga.
