THE match between the New Zealand cricket team and the Scottish Counties was drawn. New Zealand made 304 in first innings, and declared its second innings closed with eight wickets down for 103. The Counties’ first innings yielded, 287, and they had lost four wickets for 72 when play ended. The cricket match, jNfew Zealand v. Scottish Counties, was resumed at Broughty Ferry this morning. Merritt was in fine form, taking seven wickets for 74 runs. A feature of the match was the batting of Haigh and Wood, the former’s 115 taking less than two hours to make. He hit two sixes and 19 fours. Haigh’s partnership with Wood yielded 124 in 70 minutes. The Counties made 287. New Zealand declared its second innings closed with eight wickets down for 103. The Scottish team followed at the wickets, and lost four for 72. The match was drawn.
