TIME WASTED IN RUGBY GAMES
A CHRISTCHURCH COMPLAINT » (Special to THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. A complaint concerning the ameunt of time wasted in Rugby matches by referees was voiced by Mr. J. F. Peak® at a meeting of the Canterbury Rt-fe-rees* Association last night. Mr. Peake said that if a man desired to change his shorts there should either be a pair held by someone on the sideline or else the player should be made to go to the pavilion and change there. Similarly, a game should not be new up if a man was hurt. He should taken to the side-line and attended v>. the game going on. Mr. G. G. Denniston agreed, and also protested against the time given to the halfway spell. An interval of minutes was laid down in the rm« s < and this time should not be exceededAlthough no decision was mAde by the meeting, referese will proba oly a with these matters as they arise matches under their control.
