TERRITORIALS AND NIGHT PARADES

GUARANTEE REQUIRED EXTRA TIME IN CAMP Territorials who undertake to do three days’ extra in the annual camp, instead of attending the 12 night parades otherwise specified, will this year have to back up the undertaking in writing, with a certificate guaranteeing their ability to spend the additional time in camp. THE provision will stop the practice whereby a few have evaded both night parades and the extra period in camp. A week in camp, 12 night parades, and six half-day parades, form the programme for members of the Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment, for the 1927-28 year. Exemption from night parades will involve j.he extra time in camp. Readjustments of company strength will reduce the C Company roll to 180, a less unwieldy number and one that will make competition for the various trophies much more keen. Camp dates are February 11 to 18 (with a course of instruction for N.C.O.’s and officers from February 8 to 10), and the dates for C Company, which mainly consists of students, from February 8 to 18.
